3. Student Data & FERPA Compliance
Pedagotree does not request, collect, or store personally identifiable information from student education records as defined under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Incidental Disclosure: In the course of consulting engagements, a Client may incidentally share materials or documents that contain student information. In these cases, Pedagotree will treat all such information as strictly confidential, will use it solely for the purpose of delivering the contracted service, and will not disclose it to any third party under any circumstances.
- No Retention: Pedagotree will not retain any student-level data beyond the active engagement period. Upon completion or termination of services, all Client-provided materials containing student information will be securely destroyed.
- School Official Designation: Where applicable and as defined under FERPA, Pedagotree may serve in the capacity of a school official with a legitimate educational interest, accessing records solely to fulfill contracted service obligations.
- Client Responsibility: Clients are responsible for ensuring that any information shared with Pedagotree during a consulting engagement is shared in accordance with their own FERPA obligations and institutional data governance policies.
4. How We Use Your Data
We use collected information to:
- Deliver Pedagotree consulting services, coaching sessions, and digital resources.
- Manage your Pedagotree account and access to PD in a Box and other digital materials.
- Improve our website and instructional resources through anonymized analytics data.
- Data Security: We do not sell your personal or institutional information. All client data is treated as strictly confidential and is subject to the confidentiality terms outlined in our Terms of Service.
5. International Data Transfers
Pedagotree is based in the United States. When you use our site or services, your information is processed on servers located in the US through our platform partners, Kajabi and Google.
